“Cherry” – Tom Holland’s New Movie Trailer Drops

In what will be his most mature roll to date, Tom Holland’s new movie, Cherry is likely to be something very different to anything we’ve seen from him yet.

In a somewhat surprising move for the young actor, the film tells the story of an Army medic with PTSD who becomes addicted to opioids. To fund his addiction he starts robbing banks. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Nico Walker.

The movie is directed and produced by the Russo brothers, this is not the first time Holland’s has worked with the pair. The brothers are arguably most famous for their work on the MCU movies.

The film is already looking to be Oscar-worthy and could lay the groundwork for big things in the future for the 24 year-old star.

This is not the first slightly surprising casting of Tom Holland that we’ve covered. Last year he was announced to play the lead role of Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted movie. When some young actors try to move into more mature roles it is hard for them to be taken seriously but Holland has proven himself to be a fantastic actor and we have every confidence in him.

Cherry is scheduled for release in theaters on February 26th 2021 and on Apple TV Plus on March 21st 2021.

What do you think of the trailer and the casting? Are you excited to see a new side of Tom Holland?

Until next time,
