Best Bill Murray Films
Bill Murray is an icon of the big screen with loads of classics under his belt. As one of my personal favourite actors, I wanted to take the time to talk about what I think are the best Bill Murray films.
Bill Murray’s career has spanned decades and he’s continuing to star in quality films. His comedic timing paired with his deadpan delivery make him truly unique.
Ghostbusters – Let’s just jump right in here. There are a lot of people who would consider Ghostbusters to not only be one of Bill Murray’s greatest movies but possibly one of the best movies ever made. (Yeah, I said it.)
Zombieland – Sure, this was more of a cameo but I love this movie and seeing Bill Murray appear in the hilariously dark scene elevated it to new levels.
Rushmore – A cult classic that everyone needs to see. A fantastic coming-of-age story of a young student played by Jason Schwartzman. Well worth a watch for anyone who’s not seen it.
Groundhog Day – A heartwarming story of a weatherman living in a small town who finds himself reliving the same day over and over again. I could watch this movie over and over again…
Lost In Translation – This romantic comedy tells the story of Bob Harris, a fading American movie star who travels to Tokyo and ends up meeting Charlotte who’s been left there by her husband.
Scrooged – A brilliantly dark Christmas comedy that absolutely scared the life out of my when I was a child. Now, however, it’s up there with my Christmas favourites.
Kingpin – Starring another one of my personal favorites, Woody Harrelson. It’s strange to think that a film about bowling, which I have no interest in, made this list. A testament to the talent involved.
What do you think are the best Bill Murray films? What have I missed off this list? Let me know in the comments.
